About Scanunit and the role as Service Engineer
Scanunit’s journey commenced in the 1960s as part of Broströms shipping company, eventually gaining independence in 1988 as Scanunit AB, headquartered in Gothenburg. Our core mission was simply to provide effective solutions to the shipping industry. Today we are located in Gothenburg and in Helsingborg with our nearly 40 committed co-workers and strengthened by about 60 committed contractors. We are a marine engineering company and we are here to help our customers to keep their vessels and equipment in good shape, their crews and passengers safe.
Our market is experiencing significant growth, and we are expanding our team by adding a Service Engineer for our Alternative Fuels division. We are looking for someone with a background as an engineer onboard ships or experience as a service engineer in marine industry projects. In this role, you will play a key part in developing Scanunit’s newly established department focused on alternative fuels, including LNG/LBG, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, and hybrid solutions.
About you
We believe that you are a positive and self-driven person who enjoys working independently as well as working in a team. To be successful in this role you have relevant professional experience in shipping or from the process industry. Previous experiences of working with LNG or other cryogenic gases are meritorious. As a person you are structured and handy with the ability to plan and organize the execution of service work and have good communication skills and enjoy meeting new people.
We believe you are a Marine Engineer or have similar relevant technical university degree and experience. You have experience of electrical and mechanical work, and you have a deep technical understanding. You enjoy and have the knowledge of working and understanding process flow charts and how it´s all connected. You are comfortable with Microsoft environment and have good computer skills. You are communicative and fluent in both Swedish and English.
Sometimes our customers need quick support, therefore a driver’s license and willingness to travel is required. An agile approach to meet our customers’ needs are really important.
