Design Manager – Naval Architect

In recent years we have supported Ship Owners in realizing state of the art LNG-powered and ice-classed RoRo-vessels as well as battery hybrid vehicle carriers. Wallenius Marine has also developed the Oceanbird concept for fully wind-powered car-carriers and is now leading the design development of the first vessels based on the concept. This ground breaking design has the potential to transform shipping forever and is now about to be realized within the next few years!

To further strengthen our organization, we are now looking for a Naval Architect who wants to join us and drive shipping towards zero emissions.
About the position
In this position you will participate in vessel concept development and responsible for analyses of weight and stability, hull structures, hydrodynamics and performance. You will manage plan approval and design validation of newbuildings and support the team and our customers with other project related calculations and studies. The position is full-time and is based in Stockholm and travelling is part of the job from time to time.
Who are you?
Suitable background is Naval Architect or similar with a M.Sc. degree, preferably with some years working experience. You are a good team player with an analytical and creative mindset paired with a high interest in ship design and the marine industry. It is an advantage to have deeper knowledge and interest in programming, CAD and other vessel design software. Not the least, you have a strong commitment to the environment and a drive to create innovative and sustainable solutions.
